Chin Dimple Removal - will fillers work or do I need a chin implant? (Photo)

Question

I recently just got a syringe of filler in my chin to help remove my chin dimple/improve projection (photo attached). The filler improved projection but did not completely remove the chin dimple. Would more filler help me remove this further? Or is this something I can not remove with filler or a chin implant? Thank you for all the help!

You could try WR into the Mentalis muscle. This will help to lighten it further. This may also require more filler to the area.

For a longer-lasting effect and greater elevation and smoothing, combining a subcision jwith the use of an appropriately robust HA Lifting filler would be quite reasonable.

Fillers can help soften the appearance of a chin dimple or cleft by adding volume and improving contour. Since you've already seen improvement in projection with your first syringe, additional filler may further reduce the appearance of the dimple—but it may not completely erase it, especially if the indentation is deep or structural (due to underlying muscle or bone).

If the dimple is due to a strong mentalis muscle separation or a bony cleft, filler has its limitations. In such cases, you might consider a chin implant or surgical procedures like fat grafting or even genioplasty, depending on how defined or deep the cleft is and your overall aesthetic goals.

Here’s a quick comparison:
Filler: Minimally invasive, temporary, great for mild to moderate dimples or surface-level contouring.

Chin implant: Permanent, more invasive, better for structural changes or prominent clefts.

Surgical correction (e.g. muscle approximation): May be necessary if the cleft is caused by significant anatomical separation.

Recommendation: A skilled injector might be able to improve your results with another syringe or two, but if your goal is complete removal, it’s best to consult with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist for an in-person evaluation.
