I'm going to Mexico (Tijuana) in a few months for a business trip, and a friend of mine told me that I'm able to get braces down there for cheaper than in Canada. The question is though, is it possible to get your braces in Mexico but then have a local orthodontist make the adjustments on them?

The fastest way to get rid of that canine is to extract it. It is the most invasive option but it is also the fastest option. Your other teeth are fairly all in line so extracting the canine will not be that big of a deal for function or aesthetics.
