I’m in my sixties and would like Cool Sculpting on my abdomen. I have a fat pouch all over my abdomen but the skin is smooth. What might be a good indicator of not having to fear a lot of loose skin after the procedure?
Answer: What is likelihood of loose skin on abdomen after CoolSculpting? If you do not have loose skin prior to a CoolSculpting treatment to your abdomen, it is very unlikely that you would develop it afterwards. If there is loose skin before treatment, this generally will not improve after CoolSculpting.

Answer: Results after Coolsculpting -- add Venus Legacy, Vanquish, truSculpt, Exilis, Cellutone, Zwave, Evive - "Fire and Ice" You may have some swelling for 3-6 months after Coolsculpting. Most patients require a second treatment 2 to 3 months after the first to see better outcomes. For best results with Coolsculpting, a combination approach is needed. I recommend adding radiofrequency treatments like Vanquish, truSculpt iD, Venus Legacy, and Exilis Ultra for skin tightening and with Z wave/Cellutone for skin smoothing. If you still have specific problem areas that do not respond to non-invasive treatments, a VASER Hi-Definition Liposuction procedure with ThermiRF, Renuvion (J-Plasma), and InMode BodyTite may be needed to give more fat removal, contouring, skin tightening, and definition. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with a hi-definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: CoolSculpting in your Sixties Hello PitterPatter2017. Thank for your question. It is a valid concern and I suggest you seek a clinic that has experience as well as other technologies such as Emsculpt NEO and Exilis Ultra as they can both target unwanted fat but can also build muscle and tighten skin. Between these three technologies, one should be able to devise a plan for you that helps you reach your goals. Hope this helps ! All the best, Manish Khanna, MD FRCPC

Answer: Loose skin after CoolSculpting At age 60 you are still a very good candidate for CoolSculpting on your abdomen. Loose skin following the treatment will be only be a risk if you have poor quality skin to start with. It is important to have a physician assess you for the risk of post treatment skin laxity before starting your treatments. Thick, elastic skin will adapt to fat loss. Smoking, heavy alcohol use, poor nutrition, and genetics are often the cause(s) of poor quality skin. These factors are a far greater risk than age. Significant weight loss and multiple cycles of CoolSculpting can also add to the risk of loose skin. Treatments with skin boosters, PRP, Sculptra, lasers, radio-frequency needling, nutrition, and skin care products can help to lessen the risk and improve loose skin.
