What are the long term effects of having a BBL?

I use tumescent liposuction for fat transfer procedures.  I have answered tens of thousands of emails and seen thousands of patients in postop after BBL, and I would say that long term pain from the procedure would be extremely unusual.   However, it is surgery, and it is impossible to predict how every patient will respond to the procedure and the healing process.  Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Some of the effects you described may be normal, some may be technique or volume related, and some may be individual variations. Without specific evaluation of each of the situations you describe, it is hard to address accurately.Some of the effects are common short term effects after any cosmetic procedure: temporary numbness or sensory changes that make the area feel strange. Any procedure that adds volume or mass will feel heavy or strange with activities for a period of time, and usually this feeling eventually passes.
