Hi, I had a bbl and lipo 360 a year ago over the past few weeks i started experiencing pain in my left butt-cheek now I have several hard lumps I have a few on the right side as well but they do not bother me as much should I be concerned that this will get worse? Am I able to get a revision in this condition?
Answer: Hard lumps 1 year after Buttock augmentation Thank-you for your query. I am sorry you are having these painful lumps so long after the procedure. There is a possibility of fat necrosis, seromas or cysts that can form after buttock augmentation leading to lumps, but these tend to form early on. It would be easy to find out the reason for these lumps with an ultrasound examination. Seromas or cysts can be aspirated at the same time, with ultrasound guidance, Hard lumps from fat necrosis are more difficult to deal with, although I have occasionally used invasive radio frequency for a couple of small lumps in this situation , as well as curettage with a thin curette to remove an isolated lump. The first step, however, would be a detailed discussion and examination by your surgeon who can help you with all your concerns. All the best!

Answer: BBL results Dear Mzmillion, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: It’s been 1 year and I have hard lumps in butt - am I able to get a revision in this condition? If you're experiencing hard lumps in your buttocks one year after your Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, it's important to consult with a skilled plastic surgeon who specializes in BBL procedures. They can assess your situation, determine the cause of the lumps, and recommend an appropriate course of action.Hard lumps in the buttocks after a BBL can be caused by various factors, including:1.) Fat Necrosis: Sometimes, areas of transferred fat can become hardened due to inadequate blood supply, a condition called fat necrosis. This can result in the formation of firm lumps.2.) Scar Tissue: The healing process after surgery can lead to the formation of scar tissue, which might feel firm or lumpy.3.) Seroma or Hematoma: Accumulations of fluid (seroma) or blood (hematoma) can lead to lumps as well.4.) Infection: Infections can lead to inflammation and the formation of firm tissue.5.) Calcifications: In rare cases, calcifications can form in the area where fat was injected.6.) Lipoatrophy: Sometimes, the body can reabsorb some of the fat transferred during a BBL, leading to uneven results. If you're experiencing any discomfort, pain, or changes in your appearance due to these lumps, it's a good idea to consult with a plastic surgeon. They can evaluate your condition and recommend an appropriate treatment plan, which might include a revision surgery to address the lumps and improve the appearance and feel of your buttocks. It's crucial to communicate openly with your plastic surgeon, share your concerns, and work together to determine the best approach for your situation. Keep in mind that a revision surgery might have its own risks and considerations, so it's important to have a thorough discussion with a qualified medical professional before making any decisions.

Answer: BBL concerns Your toast is a bit lacking. First and foremost any person who has concerns about the outcome of a cosmetic procedure should always include proper before and after pictures when seeking an opinion about the outcome. If you don’t have proper before and after pictures and asked your surgeon to forward the ones they took. Your surgeon is also the right person to follow up with regarding your postoperative complications or concerns. It sounds like you have areas of fat necrosis from using less than ideal technique for the BBL procedure. When you say you want to revision it would be helpful if you could explain what you’re trying to achieve. do you want a bigger bottom? Change the shape? Remove the lumps? First thing to do is to follow up with the surgeon who did your procedure. If that doesn’t work then seek second opinions with other local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community. Gluteal pain can come from many different areas and if it didn’t happen until a year after the procedure it’s likely that it’s not from the fat transfer. sciatica pain most commonly comes from some problem with the nerves in your lower back. there are multiple reasons for having gluteal or hip pain. Hip arthritis is one of them. For hip pain I suggest you start by seeing your primary care doctor and ask to be referred to a pain specialist. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
