I have lip incompetence and mentalis strain when closing my mouth.What procedure will fix this? My bite is good. I haven’t been to a maxillofacial surgeon to examine my jaw. My nose is naturally upturned and looks like it’s pulling up my upper lip.

The lip incompetence is usually caused by a deficient chin. I would recommend an advancement genioplasty. The surgery is performed in the office with sedation anesthesia and takes less than an hour. There is no need for braces and the bite is unaffected. Most people return to work in 3-5 days. The incision is inside.
