Hi, I have a gummy smile that I am extremely self conscious about. I had braces in the middle school and at that time I was recommended to have jaw surgery on both of my jaws to have them essentially broken and reset. My parents decided not to go through with the surgery and instead I got spreader bar on the roof of my mouth to widen my top jaw. I am now looking for other options to correct my gummy smile that does not require jaw surgery as recommend by my dentis

A gum lift can accomplish the desired result you are seeking. However, if there is no pocket depth around your existing teeth prior to your surgery , you may need more than a simple gingivectomy (cutting away gum tissue). You may need to lift a flap and remove a corresponding amount of bone...
The reason your gums "fall back down" is because the bone under your gums has not been raised up. You can not arbitrarily cut gums without paying attention to the underlying bone.
Good luck!
Your gums do not appear to be receding but your gum levels are at differing levels due to your crooked teeth. Aligning your teeth will could resolve most of your varying gum levels.
Good luck!
