A gummy smile is the result of an underdeveloped upper dental arch. This condition can NOT be solved by braces alone. Development of your upper arch will help but you will most likely require some cosmetic periodontal surgery as well. Arch development can be accomplished with the use of a comfortable, removable dental appliance.Good luck!

Hi Monicka, I think you are mostly concerned about the excessive gums that are displayed when you smile. This can have several causes, each of which have different solutions. One solution could be orthodontics; however to get the right treatment for  you would require an examination. I would be glad to offer my opinion if you would come by my office one day.
