What would be the cost of a molar tooth implant?

An Endodontist specializes in root canal therapy.  Have one evaluate the tooth before any decisions, it may be salvagble.The cost of an inplant has several factors.  First is it an immediate implant or are you extracting and doing a bonegraft?  Are you doing an immediate placement of a Max implant to speed the process if possible.What type of implant and implant Abutment are you doing and what type of crown.You may spend anywhere fron $3500 for entire process up to $8500. This is not about just price but what procedures.Do you want a generic or high end implant.Does the dentist redo for free if poor healing?There is usually more pain with extraction then an implant placement.  Time is also an important consideration.Depending on your age recent research is showing that fixed bridgework and implants are equal in survivability.Find a dentist you trust and discuss all alternatives

You have not made it clear whether the tooth in question is savable by re-treatment of the Root canal, placement of a post and core and then a crown...or if it is hopeless.  My feelings are that with good bone and good root canal re-treatment the first choice is to keep the tooth.  Otherwise removal is in order. In most offices fees for re-treating the root canal, the post and the crown will be slightly less than extraction, bone grafting if needed, the implant, implant post and crown.  However...saving the tooth should have as high a success rate as implants  which is much above 90%.  Get a sound opinion by your dentist or if need be by a root canal specialist (endodontist).

Hi,I generally wouldn't bother replacing a second molar tooth with an implant. I would suggest you have it removed and then see if it being absent is really is a problem for you. If done by me, then the implant would be $2700 with no charge for bone grafting if only minor. The crown would be about $3000 and done by a prosthodontist.Julian
