Microdermabrasion can help reduce the superficial pigment but does not offer benefits for deeper structures (such as dark circles around the eyes) and doesn’t have predictable results for reducing dark circles.

The microdermabrasion is considered a mechanical exfoliation. If you have any underlying acne it may cause it to come to the surface. It is typically not the treatment itself that is causing acne, but it is clearing out the debris that is already inside the pore.
