I would really like to avoid having that temporary tooth gap that results from surgically assisted palate expansion, but I’ve read that braces/palate expanders in adults only shift the teeth, not the jaw bone. Is this true? Are there more options to consider? Thank you

Yes. Your protruding canines can be fixed with Invisalign. You may need a refinement, which will require addtional impressions and you will probably need IPR (interproximal reduction) to create sufficient space to properly align the canine teeth but Invisalign should work nicely.

A broken tooth can be repaired and made to look normal with dental bonding, a veneer, or a crown. Braces would not be suitable to gain back length that had chipped off for this situation.
