How long does the collagen made from Radiesse last?

The Radiesse website says the product 'immediately replenishes lost volume and stimulates the production of your own natural collagen with results that can last a year or more in many patients. Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres leaving behind only your own natural collagen.' So I'm asking the question, does the Radiesse product last a year and the collagen last for a lifetime?If not a lifetime, how long does Radiesse induced collagen last? Many thanks.

Yes, Radiesse develops collagen and helps the skin improve volume and texture. Radiesse results last 12-15 months.  The "collagen" production is long term but this is more in the aspect of younger looking skin and not "growth" of the skin itself unless you do a significant amount of product. I often combine it with Sculptra to get even more collagen production long term.   Best, Dr. Emer.

The gel carrier produces immediate correction/. The Ca beads that make your collagen form only last a few months and the collagen then can last a year or more

It has been proven that Radiesse increases Collagen type I & 3 fibers, elastic tissue, and blood vessels in the skin. This is believed to contribute to a "healthier look". Studies have shown that type I collagen and elastic tissue remains increased even 7  months after treatment, but long term studies are needed to determine the long term effects. The product itself lasts about one year, while the carrier gel usually lasts about 6 months, which explains why many patients notice a decrease in correction by that time. drbader
