Is Burping Up Iodine for Three Days After Smartlipo Normal?

Call you doctor right away to see what's going on as burping up iodine taste is not normal

1. Are you taking an antibiotic that is giving you that taste?

2. Are you having heartburn which is exacerbated by pressure from a compression garment?

3. Are you prone to stomach ulcers and are you taking aspirin, ibuprofen or other non-steroidal antiinflammatory agents, or were you prescribed steroids, or drinking alcohol?

Please see your doctor to make sure you don't have a bleeding ulcer.
 

What you are describing sounds like acid reflux which can have a very nasty taste (stomach acid in your mouth) and sometimes even has a slightly reddish/brown color.

This can be caused by several different factors including compression garments, stress, decreased stomach emptying, and medications.

Talk to your surgeon to make sure they know that you are having those symptoms.
