When the laser settings are very high or too high for your skin color this happens. They may have turned up the laser to help get rid of your hair but your skin could not take it. I would try Triluma or kojic acid or prescription strength hydroquinone cream. This will lighten it. The skin should be protected from any sun contact AT ALL TIMES. I would avoid any sun and wear sunscreen as the melanosomes in the skin seem very active and any sun will make this much worse. We do have the Picoway which helps break up this discoloration but again once the melanosomes are stimulated I would use sunscreen and fading cream to combat this first and let the skin cells rest a little
Hi. It looks like the settings were too strong and you have developed post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I would recommend triluma cream or hydroquinone 4% along with sunscreen. You might benefit from a Q-switch laser treatment to help break up some of the pigmentation. This should hopefully resolve with time. Another option could be cosmelan peel to lighten the spots. Keep us posted on your progress.
Its difficult to call any result 'permanent" but deep full field (unfractionated) erbium results are long lasting. I have some results well over 10 years that still look great.
