I’m currently 9 weeks post op from my open rhinoplasty, will my nose continue to shorten?

You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose take the time to heal. Thank you for your question.  It appears that you have an excellent result and what you were requesting was achieved.  You will continue to have subtle changes for about a year post op.  It is normal to question your results early on.  At this point try to stop evaluating your results and questioning your decisions and just get on with life.  It takes time to adjust to a new self image.

     Rhinoplasty recovery is a long process and 9 weeks is not enough. You should understand that the nose will continue to change for 18 months. These changes are for the most part predictable but in some cases cannot be fully accounted for. Even if your nose is not the shape you wanted, you would need to wait for a full year before tackling another surgery. Hope this helps
