I'm on my first tray of Invisalign and on my second night I experienced intense pain inside my left ear, pressure and deafness. The next morning there is now puss leaking out and the pressure + deafness has now moved to my right ear. This has never happened before at the same time regarding middle ear infections.

Your Hawley retainer was made to retain your teeth in a specific position. Invisalign moves teeth. The Hawley not fitting is good evidence that the Invisalign has made changes to your tooth position and is working. After the Invisalign is complete, you will need to get some new type of retainer.
