Hi. I'm a 36 year old woman. I used a steroid (oxandrolone) for 7 days and my hair began to fall very severely. The loss has lasted for 10 months. I was diagnosed with chronic telogen effluvium. I am using minoxidil and taking spironolactone 100 mg for 6 months without any improvement. Is there anything else I can do or will I have to live with this sentence?

I think the key question is whether you have CTE or AGA or both CTE + AGA. The options are all a bit different.  You may wish to see a dermatologist. There are options for higher doses of antiandrogens, oral minoxidil or higher doses of topical minoxidil or other treatments. If it’s only been 6 months one needs to keep in mind that more beneficial changes could occur simply with time.
