Tretinoin is the acid form of vitamin A and is also known as all-trans retinoic acid. There are a variety of formulations in which tretinoin can be delivered. These vary in concentration and are available as a cream or gel (brand names Aberela, Airol, Renova, Atralin, Retin-A, Avita, Refissa, or Stieva-A). It is also available as a generic. There is no evidence to suggest brand names are superior, or different to, generic forms of tretinoin.
There is NO reason to use brand name Retin A. By law, generic medications must be identical to the brand. Unless you feel better using a brand, there s no practical reason for doing so.

Topical Retinoids are not carcinogenic and actually can be used to reduce photodamage that may lead to skin cancer.
Long-term use of topical tretinoin (RetinA) will improve fine lines and wrinkles as it helps to build collagen in the skin. I recommend it to all my patients who can tolerate it. If you are noticing the lines around your eyes when you laugh, these wrinkles are likely more dynamic...
Your Retin-A is still working for you even though you are not peeling. Continue using it and sunscreen. You could consider in-office treatments that would boost the effects of your creams. Chemical peels, microdermabrasion, IPL, Thermage and laser treatments stimulate more...
