How to get rid of the spots/porous look on my legs? 1 year into laser hair removal. (photo)

I have been doing laser hair removal for a little over a year now, I have had some life conflicts that have caused me to have to post pone appointments so I’m still not done yet. I am so self concious of the spots on my legs. I have seen no results or change in the look of the spots and I’m so dissapointed. Will this go away with the LHR or what can I do to get rid of the look of the spots? I’ve also tried chemical peels, expensive razors, and all kinds of lotions and creams with no luck.

Thanks for the question and for me, the photo you provided does not help me very much.  Laser hair removal takes 4-6 visits in most cases to make the hair go away – and remember, that this is an average. Some do better and need less treatments and some need more and maintenance is also required.  If you don’t like the way your skin looks, then I would make an appointment with a board certified dermatologist and learn how best to get the skin you want.

Thank you for your question. Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA) aid in the shedding of dead skin for smoother skin and decrease inflammation from laser hair removal and razor bumps, improve texture of the skin and decrease discoloration. Glycolic acid was originally derived from sugar cane, hence the use of sugar. Other AHAs are lactic acid (milk) and citric acid (lemons, limes). If you have sensitive skin and are prone to hyperpigmentation speak with a dermatologist who specializes in treating ethnic skin before using glycolic acid and AHAs. Also, avoid abrasive scrubs. Best of luck!
