4 days after plasma pen, the amount of scabbing is making me nervous. I have an engagement in 7 days. Is this normal? (photos)

I had plasma pen treatment on my upper, lower and mouth area…I picked some scabs around my mouth on day 4 and they left bright pinkish marks. The amount of scabbing is making me nervous since I have an important engagement in 7 days which will place me 11 days from the plasma treatment. Is the scabbing I have normal and will I at least be able to use makeup to cover scars for my engagement in 7 days ? I am assuming the pink area where I picked some of the scabs will fade over time ?

Thank you for your question and posting your pictures. The degree of crusting you are experiencing is very normal. The crusts evident on your pictures should slough completely at the 5 to 7 day mark following your procedure. Do not pick at the crusts as this can lead to scarring. You should be able to wear makeup for your event and look terrific. I hope this reassurance was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Do not pick!!! Yes, scabs are normal and expected because small areas of skin have been burned. You should not wear any makeup while scabs are present. Once the scabs have peeled off on their own, you may then use makeup to cover up the redness.  Doing the plasma pen just 11 days before your engagement was probably not the best choice.
