Thread lifts are a very effective way to re suspend your facial structures but you need to be a suitable candidate. That means your skin should not be too heavy or too thin. It also implies that you should not have a lot of excessive skin. Threads have been around for a long time and there were a lot of draw backs to the old ones. The two primary drawbacks were that the threads did not ever go away and the other was that you often had a bit of a wind tunnel effect for the first two weeks with the excessive skin being "gathered" near the hair line. This corrected itself over about two weeks post procedure. The new Instalift threads are really quite good. They are made of polyLlactic acid and they dissolve over 18 months. They cause a foreign body reaction which in this case is good. The threads get a collagen "band" formed around them and as the threads disappear this "natural band" stays and continued to give you a lift. The full results take about 6 months to be seen so it is gradual and really natural. The other advantage is that they are bidirectional, so instead of pulling your skin back, it pulls it to the center and gently lifts the cheeks, the brows or the mandible and neck in a natural way also giving you some natural volume. The Nova threads or PDO threads do not cause the same reaction and, in my opinion, do not give the same long lasting effect. All my best and good luck! We have had truly wonderful results with these new threads.
Thread lifts can lead to incredible results if you are the right patient for the procedure. It is important to have a skilled surgeon performing the procedure, and certain threads are more efficacious than others. It is very low risk with real results. I prefer Rejuvn8 threads and my patients are very satisfied with their results.
Thank you for your question. Threading is safe as long as you seek treatment from a specialist. There are different kinds of lifting including Countour Thread Lift and Silhouette InstaLift. I recommend getting a in person consultation from a board-certified dermatologist.
As you can see from other responses, there are several different types of lifts, most of which last about 1-2 years. The Silhouette threadlift, not to be confused with the Instalift, uses permanent sutures that do not dissolve, last many years, and can be retightened. There are very few surgeons whom have been certified to perform this procedure in the U.S.
Not dangerous but you should be an acceptable candidate. Only expert MDs whom do both threads and facelift surgeries can assess your face/neck. Understand the 'gold standard' is ALWAYS surgery. But threading (Silhouette InstaLift or PDO Threading Mesh or both SilliPDO Lifts) can offer a nice temporary (unto 1 year to make 3 year effect). The newest option s the Y-Lift++ using deep HA fillers on facial bones with threading. Fees in $8,000 ranges on average.
Hello and thank you for posting.PDO threads represent a significant advancement in nonsurgical facial rejuvenation. There are two general categories of PDO threads, volumizing threads, and suspensory threads. The suspensory threads contain tiny barbs all along their surface which attach to the deep dermis and allow the skin envelope to be pulled up and back to create a more youthful appearance. Like any procedure, there are potential complications. These complications include pain, bruising, and visible appearance of the thread. There is a learning curve, like all procedures, so the risk of complications declines as the experience of the practitioner expands. Even in the relatively short period of time that these threads have been available in the United States, the companies continue to innovate and the current offerings have improved performance characteristics, so the complication rate had declined for this reason too. In summary, PDO threads do work for facial and neck lifting, the complications are not common, and are quite manageable if they do occur. Hope this information helps and best of luck!
