A friend asked me inquire on Cocaine and MDMA use two weeks after Intralase surgery. Would they have any significant effect on the eyes or the healing process? Also, would cannabis or alcohol. Intending to be as as safe possible during the healing period but unsure of any effects. Thank You,

None of the items cited in your query represent a danger to your recovery from laser vision correction. On on a different note, inebriation from any source in the post operative period can produce a scenario in which minir ocular trauma could result and therefore caution must be exercised.

substances you list will not have any significant effect on the healing of the
eyes post-LASIK.  While the flaps
are healing, a patient must be careful to avoid trauma or eye rubbing for the
first month.  Anyone under the
influence of these substances may not be able to completely control things like
this and might be at greater danger for a postoperative flap dislocation.
