I'm getting LASIK done within a week. I am practicing MMA. After LASIK, when can I resume exercise?

MMA i.e. Mixed martial arts, includes wrestling, kick-boxing, etc and involves hardcore freehand exercise. Blows to face n eye during a fight are common. Is there any risk of the flap in the eye that is created during lasik, getting dislocated if i get hit in the head or eye, even after sufficient recovery time (i am considering 6 months). Please let me know if i can ever feel natural during a fight, or do i have to take special precautions everytime, after the lasik.

As an MMA
fighter, you should consider a surface treatment such as LASEK which in my
opinion would be safer for you than LASIK.  Yes, with LASIK a blow to the eye could dislodge your flap,
even after 6 months.  With LASEK,
there is no flap, and you can completely avoid this concern.

You would be wise to avoid this activity for a full month after LASIK to avoid eye trauma related issues. We have done surgery for many individuals such as yourself including several pro football players and boxers with great success. One thing you might discuss with your surgeon is creating the LASIK flap with a temporal rather than a nasal hinge. Such positioning makes the flap less vulnerable to the effects of peri ocular trauma.
