I had a WLE for a melanoma on my scalp and then reconstruction using local flap grafting. This left me with a large amount of scarring with hair loss. The dermatologist and plastic surgeon have told me to just wait and see. Do I have any options now or for the future to regrow hair and minimize scarring? Photos are 9 weeks post op. Female, 40s, otherwise healthy, no prior history of hair loss.

Hello and thank you for your question. To be honest, there aren't many studies on this subject, but to my knowledge foods do not trigger Alopecia Areata. That being said, it's always good to have a well-balanced diet, get proper rest, and exercise.

Hello and thank you for your question. It's difficult for me to answer your question when I have a question of my own. Why wouldn't your dermatologist prescribe Finasteride? Since I don't know your personal history it makes it difficult for me to answer your question. Best of luck to you.

Hello and thank you for your question. If I were you I would want to know why my testosterone is elevated. I don't believe a workout the previous night would cause an increase in testosterone. I suggest starting with a visit to your doctor and take it from there. Best of luck to you.
