I have to get a root canal on my back molar right before starting Invisalign, is this a problem?

That’s unfortunate that you need a root canal but no problem for your Invisalign. Make sure to see an Endodontist ( dentist who specializes and only performs root canals with microscopic technique). After your root canal, you may need a crown and therefore may need new aligners. It should not cost too much for the new impressions or scans if you need them. As a general rule, your best bet is to have your Invisalign treatment with an orthodontist since they specialize in Orthodontic treatment and where plastic aligners fail to deliver which happens often,they can offer alternatives for you to still have a perfect outcome.
