Short roots, Invisalign & composite bonding - please help! (Photo)

When teeth are move orthodonticlly there is a change of root resorption. If teeth al ready have short roots and more root resorption occurs you are risking loosing those teeth . It is always ok to go to another provider for second opinion if you are not comfortable .

The answer to your question depends on how short the roots of your lateral incisors are.  Invisalign can move these teeth and eliminate the space between them and your lower teeth without composite bonding.  However, Invisalign will put pressure on these teeth and could cause them to become loose permanently if their roots are too short to begin with.  I would ask your dentist about these possibilities and treatment that would be required if these teeth ever should be lost.  Make sure you are well informed prior to beginning any treatment.
