Extra Invisalign tray? What does this mean and how should I proceed? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hello! Each of my Invisalign trays has been the usual 1 of 26, 2 of 26, 3 of 26 - up until the current 14 of 26 - for both Upper and Lower. However, I have just noticed an extra set *between* 14 and 15 containing a single lower tray inside, with the same number 15 as the next set. It also has an extra label of "Attachment Template." What does this mean and how should I proceed? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi INADITCH,
That extra aligner should still be with your dentist, we use it to add a button attachment. I can't assume to know what happened or why this was issued to you, but I can suggest what you should do:
1. Call your dentist, let them know they have accidentally given you an attachment template and book an appointment on, or as close as possible to, the start date of your aligner #15, 
2. take the attachment template with you to your appointment, have the clinician overseeing this treatment place the attachment, 
3. Continue as normal with tray #15.

Do not wear that tray! Also, do not proceed to the next number tray until you see your provider. There is a new attachment- or attachments that need to go on your teeth. You must make an appointment and bring that with you.
