Now when i eat a meal food gets under my bottom denture and hurts so much that i have to stop eating. This happens even with a denture adhesive. Usually i can only eat a few bites. Especially embarrassing when eating at a restaurant.

Answer: Implant retained denture A denture retained with implants is much more stable than what you currently have. This will help prevent food from being trapped under the denture. Also, the denture won't be able to move around when attached to the implants, so even if you got food under it the denture wouldn't be able to rub against the particles as much.

Answer: Implants overdentures The main reasons for food trap under any dentures in general is lack of stability of the denture and / or lack of seal between dentures and the gums. one of the major benefits of Implant overdentures is its high stability that minimizes any movement of dentures during eating to avoid food trap, in the same time these dentures still have to be well constructed and well adapted on gums to have a good seal otherwise it will still trap food. Overdentures are very good in stability and minimizing food trap but nobody can claim that it can totally eliminates food trap underneath it but definitely much more comfortable and secured than conventional dentures like day and night.
