I have been devastated by this whole process and am past worried about if I will ever get used to them! my most recent adjustment was a week ago today, and now they just feel plastic and unlike real teeth! they just feel flat and smooth in the back! he also smoothed out my bottom teeth so I don't know if that has anything to do with the soft/plastic feel of my bite in the front! is this normal? will it go away? Please somebody anybody reach out to me! I'm terrified

It is entirely possible that the deep decay that was existing under the old crowns could cause renewed infection in the tooth. Also, if there is not enough tooth left due to the decay, the tooth could fracture/split. I would return to your dentist and discuss this with him.
The only way to make them right is to replace them- and yes it's not what you wanted to hear. Zirconia is popular, but unfortinately it is not very pretty most of the time. EMax is usually a better choice. Next time be sure you love them at try in before they are cemented.
