Can't get used to crowns on front teeth help please, devastated...college student. (Photo)

I sounds like your dentist has been attempting to adjust your bite so you are not hitting to hard on your new crowns.  If he began adjusting down your lower teeth he is most likely concerned that adjusting further on the new crowns would make them too thin and susceptible to fracture/failure.  This could be due to a couple things:1.  Insufficient removal of tooth structure to allow for an adequate thickness of the crown without it hitting too much.2.  How your teeth are angled or come together- it appears from the 1st picture that your teeth are inclined back which puts them in close proximity to the lower teeth and makes it more difficult to gain adequate space for the crowns without having to remove too much tooth away and get close to the nerve.Because of possible space restrictions, you may not be good candidate for all porcelain crowns as they typically require the most space/tooth removal in order to get adequate thickness.  You may be better off with a PFM (porcelain fused to metal) crown or an all Zirconia crown; both of these would not require as much thickness and may work out better in terms of feel and function.  However, all porcelain crowns are typically the most aesthetic crowns, it may be difficult to make them fit properly without more tooth removal.

The photos are not real clear so hard to evaluate.  My suggestion is to call a local oral SURGEON'S  office.  Talk to the receptionist and ask her who the best dentist in town is (they see all dentists' patients and they will know).  Schedule a consult with that dentist and ask about the crowns. You will most likely get good answers to your concerns and know where to go from there.
