Bridge too high. What should I do?

My % unit (covering teeth 18-22) bridge is about 4-5 mm higher than the rest of my teeth. My front teeth hurt like they are being pushed, my jaw feels swollen on the side of the bridge and I feel my TMJ that has been good for quite a few years is coming back. My new dentist refused to send the bridge back to the lab. What should I do?

There is no way to properly retrofit a tooth supported bridge onto dental implants. There is no way to reuse the bridge in such a manner that it won't create an on healthy result I hope you found this information to be helpful, Dr Champagne

Thanks for your question... If there was decay under the bridge then most certainly it would have to be removed and redone, there is no way to just fill the holes or remove the bridge and reuse it again.  The bridge has to be sectioned off, decay removed, teeth rebuilt and a new bridge ...

Hi, need answer.  I am wondering if you saw tooth structure with the temporary bridge? Sometimes, you do get recession of the gum tissue after the impression or mold is taken. It looks like the edge of the crown (called a margin) is closed but can't be sure with the photo. You most likely...

Hi:Very good question.  Margin is the meeting area between a dental restoration and the tooth.  If the margin is not sealed there is high chance of decay.Best,Dr. Maddahi
