Can Invisalign aligners cause permanent damage to the cervical and/or thoracic spine?

Since getting a major refinement on my Invisalign aligners, I have started to experience headaches and progressively worsening pain in my right trap and right side of my neck. I am nearing the end of my treatment, and from what I've read here, most orthodontists DON'T think it's due to the Invisaligns.

Invisalign or any orthodontic treatment, simply moves your teeth, it can not effect the bones of your neck.  Tooth movement changes your bite and this can affect the muscles that are used in the process of chewing.  Bite changes are rarely the cause of the muscle pain (one type of TMD pain) but they can be an additional factor.  Usually there is another significant cause of muscle overuse (clenching, grinding, or trauma) this is the underlying cause of a muscle related TMD disorder.   Discuss your symptoms with your provider.  If he/she is an experienced orthodontist, they will be able to diagnose your symptoms or refer you to someone that can diagnose and treat your pain.  Note:  Tooth movement with invisalign does not effect your airway, Research is very clear on this as well as the lack of relationship between bite and TMD.

Most doctors who work with chronic pain and TMJ disorderes understand that these problems can result from changing bite.You may decrease airway, crowd tongue or change jaw posture.  Some appliances open the airway, like the DNA Appliance or the Alf while others have a potential to close airways.The web link has many videos of  TMD patients.
