Severe pain 3 days after sinus lift with bone graft and 2 implants. What can I do?

Had implants done on #15 and #18 three days ago, with sinus lift & bone graft on upper. (Teeth were removed a year ago). I'mexperiencing severe pain since anesthetic wore off. Advil, Vicodin & Norco didn't work at all. Can't sleep. Yesterday My board certified dentist switched me from Amoxicillan to Clindamycin & I got Ibuprofen. Today I'm experiencing severe pain every 3 hours. Its the bottom jaw area that's most painful. My Dentist is away for the weekend & it's only Sat now. What can I do?

there is usually limited pain after this surgery most of your discomfort and swelling should be at 72 hours ( 3 days) post surgery.   Either see an emergency dental clinic and get a different pain med or combine extra strength tylenol with ibuprophen every 4-6 hours make an appointment with ur dentist as soon as you possible if your discomfort does not get better. You might need a stronger antibiotic more specific for sinus area. If infection not resolved, the graft might need to be removed

Call your doctor and return to the office immediately. Pain is generally not an issue with sinus augmentation. It is possible that you either did not take the appropriate medication to handle the swelling. This can lead to sutures failing and concurrent pain. Swelling usually peaks at 72 hours. See your doctor right away so they can monitor you closely and prevent a worst case scenario - fungal infection.Hank D. Michael, DMD

Sorry to hear about your issue. It's a difficult thing to assess over the Internet. Best thing to do is find out which hospital in your area has a dental department and go right away. The pain could be a result of various different problems and you could need some more or surgical intervention to correct the problem.
