Can the DNA appliance change face shape and cause bones to grow larger?

DNA appliance works great for TMJ cases. It will enhance your profile and face. All cases I have seen and done patients look alot better than before.

TMJ Dysfunction is most commonly caused by underdeveloped dental arches. These underdeveloped dental arches also adversely affect your airway. Using the DNA appliance, or any number of other fixed and/or removable arch development appliances, will increase the size of your dental arches. Since your jaws are the major part of your face then you will see facial changes. The most obvious changes will be seen in the cheek bones, more upper lip volume, and improved facial profile. Your nose will not get bigger and if anything will appear smaller due to the improved facial profile and fuller upper lip.

I have been doing arch development in adults for 30 years and I have never had a patient complain about the changes to their face and smile but I have had innumerable comments about improvements in facial aesthetics.

I suggest if you have TMJ disorders you address them with a neuromuscular orthotic prior to doing a DNA appliance.  This improves your quality of life and gives you a preview of some of the changes.
I use DNA and the mRNA version extensively to finish TMJ cases and to treat sleep apnea.  They are now being marketed as the VIVOS System.
With TMD issues you want to to work with a well trained neuromuscuiar dentist.  I suggest using an ICCMO member.
