Can i take Cabergoline with Finasteride ?

When taking Finasteride for MPB for whatever reason my prolactin sky rockets to 3x greater than top of normal range (confirmed by bloods both on and off finasteride). Being a male i have read that prolactin is the biggest libido and erection killer as far as hormones go - which may well explain why i have such poor libido when on the drug. My ED comes and goes. Is there any objection to combining these drugs ?

From the photos you have sent you do seem to be experiencing diffuse thinning.However, finding the cause, or trigger, of DUPA requires a thorough history and examination and will enable appropriate treatment. Patient education is key in the management of diffuse hair loss.

Here are some 10-25 years dates from studies on patients taking Finasteride for that length of time and there was now significant difference in their health compared to those who did not take the medication. Taking breaks may make the medication less effective and possible cause you to lose some...

Irrespective of how long you have been taking finasteride I am not aware of any reason why you cannot just simply stop taking it. Unlike some other medications (e.g. steroids which cause adrenal suppression if used for a significant period and therefore should be gradually reduced) finasteride...

I  agree with Dr. Rassman regarding side effects of 15% minoxidil. Furthermore, traction alopecia, if prolonged, causes a permanent loss of follicles. Minoxidil, at any percentage, will not bring back scarred follicles. Minoxidil  may help if started  early in the process.Jeff Rapaport MD FAADR...
