I drink tons of coffee, tea and wine, and my new crowns do seem to temporarily stain. I can get them white again if I use a harsher toothbrush or if I use a whitening toothpaste, but all of the stain is not removed if I use a soft toothbrush and/or a regular toothpaste. I am not sure if the zirconia crowns were also coated with porcelain.

If you have concerns, you can call to ask the doctor/assistant what type of cement was used. Many cements are now very simple to use and don't require a lot of steps. Most cements need to be in a dry field, so if they had cotton in your mouth it would dry enough to get permanently cemented...
