Are horizontal cracks on the front teeth normal?

I have horizontal cracks on my front teeth. I chew hard substances due to which my molars have been pushed deep into my gums. I feel occasional pain while brushing or eating cold stuff. What should I do to stop further decay?

Horizontal cracks on front teeth are not normal. It sounds as if you have a destructive habit pattern which could eventually result in your fracturing off these teeth. You could monitor these teeth for the time being if you can eliminate the habit pattern or you could preempt a possible fracture and or possible root canal treatment by placing ceramic crowns on these teeth before they fracture.
