36 yo female. Prior extraction orthodontic work as a child/teen. Unilateral posterior crossbite causing grinding, tooth sensitivity, swollen gums, jaw pain, headaches. Is it possible to fix this problem without surgery with braces/appliances alone? Any known providers in Louisiana?

Answer: The DNA is Ideally for Adult Orthopedic Growth To Correct Crossbite. Can Reverse Effects of Contraction Orthodontics
You well might have greater health issues by not having the tooth removed. It will decay and create a conduit through which all those nasty germs in the mouth will get into your blood stream and be carried throughout your body. Scary concept to me. I'd get that tooth out of there to be safe....
Retainers do NOT move teeth. However, there is an Inman Aligner that resembles a Hawley, but it is designed to move teeth. There are springs, etc. A retainer, no matter what kind is used, is only supposed to keep teeth in the current position.
Your orthodontics well might change your lip support. As for the chin and jaw line, you had better discuss this with your dentist. All these factors depend upon how the teeth are being moved and only your dentist can answer that question.
