I have a 10 year old implant on 8. I have had gum issues in the past but cleared up when I had the crown redone. I also have crowns on 7 &9. 2 wks ago, I started getting a throbbing pain around the implant. The bone and gum are healthy. My dentist did say that the root of 7 looked more inflamed than normal. He was on the fence about a root canal, but I don't show typical symptoms. Implant removal? Also- I have chronic daily headaches- not sure if this would have any bearing on it.
