I want braces as I have spacing only on my top row of teeth. This is because one of my teeth on the right side, (the "lateral incisor), never grew in for an unknown reason. He suggests braces, and then having a fake tooth installed in place of the missing one. If I went through with this procedure, could I still keep a small gap, or would it cause issues with the fake tooth?

Answer: Orthodontic treatment doesn't HAVE to be perfect
We're sorry that you experienced such a thing.
If you have available, use listerine for at least 30 seconds, twice a day. It'll help keep the area clean and the healing process.
Hope that helps!
It is very difficult to tell what is the best treatment based off of a single photo. Here are some observations based off of the one photo and your history:Your upper dental arch is underdeveloped (see gummy smile). Your upper front teeth have already been overly retracted (bicuspid extractions)...

Hi I would advise always to try to keep your teeth and straigten using braces first. However it is a much longer process. An extraction of the misplaced tooth and a dental implant would work as well but we do advise a thorough assessment to decide on which is best way forwards
