Retin-a is a milder form of Tazorac in a way, so if you need a lot of help with acne and have fairly oily skin, Retin-a might not be strong enough for you. I would just stick with your dermatologist's recommendations, and I don't think mixing a less-strong and a more-strong retinoid would make much of a difference. Best of luck!
