After any surgery, there is a possibility that you may have difficulties and not be 'quite yourself'. For this reason, it is a very bad idea to drive home after surgery. You may feel quite well, but have serious issues after surgery and get in an accident. Take a cab if you don't have transportation
This really depends on the medications you have recieved and the extent of the procedure. If you are simply having you neck or outer thighs that is quite feasible but having your abdomen, inner and outer thighs treated and driving home alone may not be necessarily wise
It is not a good idea to drive yourself home after a procedure whehter it is liposuction or something else. Many times you are given medications to sedate you, and you certainly do not want to fall asleep at the wheel. We make it a rule in my office that a patient has to be accompanied home by someone, and we recommend that someone stays with you for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
SmartLipo is still liposuction and it is a surgical procedure. Despite the fact that it is done under local anesthesia, I would not recommend to any of my patients that they drive home. You never know when you may feel queasy, leak some blood, or any number of other concerns that are not anticipated. Get a friend or trusted one to drive you home.
If your procedure is done with straight local anesthesia, there are no bandages blocking your view and you have not been treated in an area that could pain or cramp your foot peddles or steering wheel...then you are OK.If you take oral medical such as Valium or Precocet, have procedures done in you neck, arms or legs, these would all represent conditions that would make it more prudent to have someone drive you.
Yes, but it depends on the size of the area treated and the anesthesia that is uses. Safety should always come first above and beyond all else so that is the bottom line. If it is safe in your case then you can drive home after smart lipo.
Unless the liposuction was EXTREMELY minor and you received no sedation medications, you should have somebody drive you home. More goes on under the surface than you might think with liposuction so it would be smart to have a designated driver.
Hi there- The prevention of blood clot formation after surgery can be divided into things your surgeon, nurse, and anesthesiologist should do, and things you can do. The best and simplest way to be sure everything is being done to maximize your safety is to be sure the procedure is being...
It's a really important question that you are asking and the answer to it is that if you do the SmartLipo using tumescent method without general anesthesia, your risks of any problems with DVT are essentially none. On the other hand, if you go to a place where the tumescent anesthesia is in...
There are currently three types of SmartLipo devices on the market in the United States. The original SmartLipo was limited to a single wavelength which provided heat to melt the fat prior to being removed through liposuction. The second generation, SmartLipo MPX, was a dual...
