20 years ago I was in an accident that injured my left thigh. The accident deeply bruised my thigh and the tissues on my thigh accumulated fat. It looks unsightly (to me) as it’s uneven compared to my right thigh which looks normal. Will sculpsure help?

This type of reaction can occur after SculpSure.&nbsp; The lump is a result of&nbsp;a collection of fat cell and massaging the area will help it&nbsp;to resolve over the next 2-3 weeks.&nbsp; The skin may turn pink and this should gradually resolve as well.&nbsp;&nbsp;Make sure you stay hydrated to help flush the fat out of your system.&nbsp; Thanks for the question and photo.

It is normal to experience tenderness (like a bruised feeling) and some swelling or even nodules (hardened areas) after SculpSure.&nbsp; The symptoms will gradually resolve over the next few weeks.&nbsp; Continue to follow your post care instructions of massaging the area&nbsp;and drink plenty of water.&nbsp; You can also&nbsp;use ice pack or take Tylenol for discomfort.&nbsp; Thanks for your question.&nbsp;&nbsp;

I had the procedure done Tuesday, it took almost two hours to do all 4 sections, top of thigh on both sides and right below that above my knee on both sides. The top of the thighs are not hardly swollen and there’s only minimal tenderness there, but the part above my knee on both sides is super swollen and very tender still. I’ve been massaging both areas several times a day even though it hurts and when I massage it, the swelling seems to go down briefly above my knee but comes back.

I had SculpSure done four days ago on upper and lower front of thighs and still swollen and tender. Is this normal?

Thank you for your question.&nbsp; Pain during SculpSure&nbsp;can vary quite a bit, but in general is usually&nbsp;tolerated without tears.&nbsp; Sometimes a slight repositioning of the frames or reduction in frequency can drastically improve patient&nbsp;comfort.&nbsp; In general, I have found most of my patients have less pain&nbsp;during the&nbsp;second treatment and&nbsp;sometimes need&nbsp;a higher frequency to get to a zone score of 4.&nbsp;&nbsp; Make sure you follow all the post procedure instructions for massage and hydration.&nbsp;&nbsp;

I got SculpSure done yesterday and experienced a LOT of pain. I was crying during it. They said they had never seen this reaction before. The only thing I can think is I just started my period yesterday as well. Do you think they did something wrong? I want to make sure it will still work. It’s still very tender today too.

Hi,&nbsp; your treatment will&nbsp;still be effective.&nbsp; This is a safety mechanism on the SculpSure device.&nbsp; If the&nbsp;laser loses skin contact the machine&nbsp;will alarm and if not corrected within 30 seconds it will go through a cooling cycle and then restart heating&nbsp;the cells&nbsp;to the&nbsp;desired temperature.&nbsp; You will not lose any time on the actual treatment.&nbsp; Thanks,&nbsp; Jodi Dreier APNP, Nurse Practitioner.

My SculpSure treatment was interrupted 7 minutes into the treatment with a 3 minute cooling phase. Dr was not sure why this happened. After this 3 minutes of cooling, it began to cycle properly again through the heating and cooling. I believe 3 extra minutes were added on at the end of my treatment to make up for this. Since the treatment was interrupted, was it still as effective as a 25 minute continuous treatment? Thank you!
