I had an incredible experience at Very Good Plastic Surgery. I came in for a functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty, non-incisional eyelid surgery, and a sub-brow lift—and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From the very beginning, Jenny Im was so helpful and supportive. She responded quickly to all of my questions and guided me through every step of the process, making the experience smooth and stress-free. The medical team was outstanding. Dr. Nam Jae Sung, who performed my nose surgery, was both thorough and attentive. Dr. Jang Seung Bin, the eye specialist, was equally meticulous and skilled. I felt completely confident in their care. The nurses were so kind and attentive, always making sure I was comfortable and well taken care of during my recovery. Overall, I highly recommend Very Good Plastic Surgery to anyone considering cosmetic or functional procedures in Korea. The team is professional, caring, and truly committed to achieving the best outcomes for their patients.
Very Good Plastic Surgery - with Dr. Choi Min Hyeob After spending a lot of time researching facial rejuvenating surgery in several countries I chose Very Good Plastic Surgery in Seoul, Korea. Doctor had great reviews and many years of experience. He was very kind, patient, and took the time to explain the procedure. The nurses and staff are with you every step of the way and are a much needed support. Jenny, Lilit, Smule, Candy, and so many others… thank you so much for your compassion and help. I set my video consultation appointment, then made the trip to the beautiful country of Korea. From my first appointment at the clinic, the staff helped me with all arrangements. I had my surgery and stayed at the clinic overnight. The staff walked me to get my prescriptions, andI then I recovered at my hotel returning for many check up visits including hyperbaric treatments for a speedy recovery with the doctor and staff. The recovery process is long, but the staff will be there to support you. Again, thank you to all involved in my experience! If you are considering having surgery, I would highly recommend Very Good Plastic Surgery to all!
I had a revision rhinoplasty and lip fillers, I can’t express enough how facilitating Jenny and all the staff were. It’s daunting to have any cosmetic surgery done but they take great care of you, ensuring all of your worries, needs and desires are communicated clearly. After last time where results were not exactly what I’d hoped for, I felt a little worried but they really listened, highlighting exactly what I did want and didn’t, working within the constraints of my nose type (bulbous.) The head Dr Im Young Min was extremely professional, caring and friendly, making refinements whilst keeping it looking natural. I’m so greatful, he’s really skilful and attentive ! when I got my lip fillers done again I was quite worried about the pain but all the staff were so supportive, providing comfort in an uncomfortable situation, Lilit especially as I had a rather tight grip on her hand I also must say the healing was quicker than I expected, their facilities including deswelling treatments and the aftercare services were effective, relaxing and helped massively with the healing. They do really listen to you and try to improve your experience, especially Jenny as she frequently checked in every day making sure your wellbeing is good and all needs are met whilst being super nice. Getting medication and consultations were also very easy, overall it was an accessible, straightforward and good experience! I love my new nose already and can’t wait for more of the swelling to go down. If you are a foreigner or not I cannot recommend this clinic enough, they’re great, practical and effective - I couldn’t be anymore thankful ????? so thank you VG. The results are better than I had hoped for, Dr Young min precision and technical skills really are reflected. Despite it being the first week and a half and having very thick skin, I can already see the refinements he made, I'm so happy with it!! This is a doctor and clinic you can trust 100% they’re amazing.
Hello everyone. Here is my story. I had a quite difficult case as had nose congestion, deviated septum and quite a huge hump on my bridge. I was looking for a hospital that can do both cosmetic and functional correction. I consulted several hospitals in Korea before I found VG Plastic surgery. VG Hospital was professional and offered both cosmetic and functional correction as they have rhinoplasty surgeon and ENT specialist as well. They did ct scan of my nose before the consultation. I was pretty surprised it is free even for consultation only. Dr.Kim Young Woo consulted about the cosmetic part and recommended lateral osteotomy, hump shaving and lifting my droopy tip. I didn't want any foreign material to be used for my bridge, so the doctor recommended using some tissues from behind the ear like fascia to keep the nasal bridge line smooth after hump shaving. For my tip doctor suggested using septal cartilage graft. Dr.Nam Jae Sung my ENT doctor consulted me about functional correction and checked my CT scans and even suggested checking inside the nose with an endoscope to find out what is the reason for nose congestion. Dr.Nam also speaks good English, so it was nice to communicate with the surgeon directly in English. Dr. Nam recommended to do turbinoplasty and septoplasty to correct my deviated septum and improve enlarged turbinates size with some kind of ultrasound, so it is not much invasive procedure. Both doctors were detailed and thoughtful. Hospital also has up-to-date, clean facilities and nice staff. I was really nervous before surgery, because nose appearance really matters. First few days after the surgery was quite tough, I was too swollen, could not open my eyes normally, needed to breathe with my mouth only. I still have bruising and swelling, especially around eyes area and tip. Waiting for my final result and very excited to see my bridge without cast. Updated on 4 Sep 2022: Here is my nose without the cast after nose surgery with Dr.Kim Young Woo and Dr.Nam Jae Sung at VG Plastic surgery. I got my surgery on 18th August. The nose bridge looks much straighter and defined, although I still have swelling and bruising. I think I already like the shape of my nasal bridge. Waiting for swelling to subside on my tip and bruising around the eyes. I also feel like I can breathe much easily than before. Dr.Nam checked inside the nose with endoscope and said I still has swelling, but septum is much straighter and nasal cavity is extended, so airflow can easily go through. So far so good. I dont regret with my decision on doing surgery in Korea with VG Plastic surgery.
Generally, scars start to gradually improve around three months after surgery. Over time, they continue to fade and eventually remain as fine, white lines.
It seems that the scar resulting from the philtrum reduction is causing you significant concern. If alar reduction is performed during the rhinoplasty, the area of the current scar will need to be re-incised, which will create a new scar. Depending on the surgeon’s technique, the size of the new scar can be minimized.
After surgery, it is important for the patient to follow proper aftercare to help the scar gradually fade. Scar maturation typically takes about 6 to 12 months, so improvement will occur gradually over time.
Typically, after rhinoplasty, the external stitches and nasal splint are removed around one week after surgery. Depending on the clinic or the surgeon’s technique, internal nasal stitches may be removed up to 14 days post-surgery. Generally, patients are able to fly approximately two weeks after the procedure.
If it is not possible to stay until the 14th day after surgery, you can have the external splint and stitches removed at the clinic around one week after surgery and return home. The remaining internal nasal stitches can be safely removed in your home country by a qualified physician.
Since your flight is scheduled four weeks after surgery, this allows sufficient time for recovery, and it should be safe to travel at that time.
From the photos, your nose appears to be slightly deviated. Because the position of the columella and the nasal tip are not perfectly centered, the nose tilts slightly to one side, which also makes the nostrils appear asymmetrical.
Since we do not have a photo taken from below the nose, it is difficult to make a completely accurate assessment. However, if the center of the nose is properly aligned during surgery, the asymmetry of the nostrils can be improved. Please note that achieving perfectly identical nostrils is very difficult, and some minor asymmetry may remain.
Additionally, the rounded appearance of the nasal tip can be refined with a bulbous tip correction, which can create a slimmer and more balanced nose.
Over time, when foreign materials or cartilage are placed inside the nose, the pressure on the nose can increase. This may cause the skin to thin, which can make the underlying cartilage more visible.
In your case, the area appearing at the nasal tip seems to be part of the cartilage. If left untreated, there is a risk that it could eventually pierce through the skin. By undergoing revision surgery beforehand, we hope to prevent this from happening and maintain healthy nasal skin.
Along with reinforcing the internal nasal skin, there may also be a need to slightly lower the height of the nose.
Thank you very much for sharing your photos. From what I can see, your nasal tip is not excessively upturned. However, because the alar cartilage at the tip is slightly oriented upward, it makes the nostrils appear more visible.
In this case, we can use ear cartilage to extend and support the alar cartilage, which allows the tip of the nose to be brought slightly downward. This would help improve the nostril exposure when viewed from the front or side.
This adjustment can help make the nostrils less visible and may give you greater confidence in the appearance of your nose.
