I got this when I was 22. I thought it was too big from the beginning but, being 22, didn't say anything. I like the subject matter, but I've always disliked the composition, execution and size. Finally, 21 years later, the technology has gotten to where it seems like removal (or a serious fade for a cover up) is within reach. I have my first treatment on Jan. 31 and I'm super nervous. I'm mostly nervous that its going to be excruciatingly painful in the moment and for days and days afterwards. This site has been so helpful in providing peoples' stories and images as their removal progresses, so I thought I'd add mine to it. Each treatment will cost $300. They offered a "treat until its gone" package for $2100, but given that I'm pretty sure (like 99% sure) I want to fade it for a cover up, I'm not sure the package price is worth it. Does anyone have any thoughts......go for the package or pay as I go in hopes that it takes less than 7 treatments to fade is sufficiently? Thanks for reading! PS: Total Body Atlanta isn't my provider, but my provider wasn't listed and I couldn't post this without selecting a provider. If there is a way to add a new provider, it isn't very intuitive.Updated on 31 Jan 2017: So I had my first treatment today. I was so nervous I thought I might be sick. It hurt quite a bit....splattered bacon grease is a good analogy, but it was only about 3 minutes and it was manageable without any anesthetic. I have been really surprised and impressed with how much fading I already see. I was prepared to not see much difference at all. Very optimistic that it can get to a point where we can do a cover up free from too many design constraints. I have decided to pay session by session. Next appointment is April 13! Currently it feels like a bad sunburn and I'm applying an ice pack on and off.Updated on 1 Feb 2017: Day 2 post- Treatment 1. Three small blisters appeared sometime during the day today. They don't hurt. The skin around the tattoo is itchier than the actual tattoo, but so far its not that itchy. The tattoo lines feel raised....probably from swelling. You can't see it, but you can feel it.Updated on 13 Feb 2017: Day 14. A little itchy, a little peely. Still a fair amount of old blood just under the skin surface. It was never actively bleeding....just subcutaneous. Hoping it will reabsorb soon bc it looks gnarly. Anyone else have this?
