Monica Ponce Physician Assistant
Monica Ponce joined Sunset Dermatology in 2011. She graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science in 2001 and completed her Physician Assistant studies at Miami-Dade College in 2004.
As a dermatologic physician assistant she is trained to diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions in adults and children including acne, warts, atopic dermatitis, skin cancer and psoriasis. She also performs surgical procedures such as removal of benign lesions (cyst, moles, etc.) and skin cancer excisions. In addition, she has received specialized training in advanced skin rejuvenation including administration of Botox and/or Dysport, dermal filler injections, skin resurfacing procedures and laser hair removal. Monica has special interests in cosmetic lip augmentation, sclerotherapy to remove spider veins and allergy patch testing.
Natalie Suarez Physician Assistant
Natalie Suarez is a nationally certified and state licensed Physician Assistant. She attended Florida International University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then completed her clinical training at Barry University where she earned a Master of Clinical Medical Sciences and graduated as Valedictorian of her class.
Natalie is a vibrant practitioner who has a genuine interest and passion for all aspects of dermatologic care. She focuses on procedural dermatology and is skilled in many common dermatologic surgical procedures including excisions of skin cancers, cysts and lipomas. She has a special interest in the repair of cosmetic earlobe defects such as torn or elongated pierced earring holes. Natalie also works in evaluating and treating common skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis and warts. She takes great pleasure in educating her patients so that they fully understand their condition and treatment plan.
Jannel Pichardo Physician Assistant
Jannel Pichardo graduated in 2006 from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in health sciences and a minor in biology. She graduated in 2010 as a Physician Assistant from Miami-Dade college. In 2011, she completed a Physician Assistant Dermatology Fellowship in Washington, D.C.
Jannel has many years of specialized training in various skin conditions and dermatologic surgical procedures. She has a special interest in disorders of pigmentation and enjoys customizing treatments for these conditions with modern pharmacology and peels, many times combined with the technology of lasers.
Her passion is missionary work. She leads a medical team and enjoys traveling to different countries to treat patients. She has a heart to serve and truly cares about the well being of her patients here and around the world.
Jannel is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
