I recently complete three QWO treatments. Here's what I have learned and what I can say to combat some of the negative reviews (while being realistic of what to expect). 1 ) The injections aren't painless. The worst is a little sting. Yes, you will feel it immediately after so don't do what I did and forget as you flop into your car seat to head home. I shrieked. Haha. 2 ) QWO is not for super deep cellulite. While it can snap the band, the skin won't just pop back out and plump up. More so, the fat that grows around it won't be destroyed, so the general dimple will remain. However, it does lighten them and reduce the appearance of them. 3 ) QWO is much better at lightening the look of cellulite vs destroying it (though it can destroy some). 4 ) It doesn't just look better immediately after. It can take up to six months or so to see full results. However, I saw results after the first treatment as the dimples began to lighten. Keep in mind, bad lighting will enhance any dimple you have even if it has been lightened. When you look at your bum at home, go to the same room with the same light each time to see your actual results. 5 ) Prepare for bruising. It will look like you broke your glute in half on your first round (less bruising each round to follow). 6 ) With bruising of such intensity in one spot comes the risk of bruise staining (Hemosiderin). That blood has nowhere to go and it can get stuck, leaving deposits of iron that can cause discoloration. **Keep reading for tricks to help reduce the severity.** With that said, know that bruise staining can both be permanent and also simply take a long while to go away. Also, thighs have a much higher risk of staining than the glutes do. 6 ) USE ARNICA BRUISE CREAM! USE IT! Use it like you never used a cream before. Slather it on. This will not only quicken the healing but reduce the severity of the staining. Use it multiple times a day. **Also a hot bath helps circulation, so get in a hot bath after each treatment before you're too sore to sit.** 7 ) Once you can actually touch your injected areas comfortably, when applying cream, massage and rub with vigor. Start forcing that blood to move by massaging strongly. This also helps break down the scar tissue that will form around the injection sites (the hard bumps). *Note* I am very pale and I was very worried about bruise staining. I followed the directions above and they were very surprised how little/light my staining was and are pretty sure it'll keep clearing up as time goes (I barely notice it unless in very specific lighting). 8 ) Finish all three rounds. Don't stop because you get discouraged after one. Just keep going. 9 ) This is a big one! Go in with realistic expectations. There is no absolute cure for cellulite. Go in knowing it will reduce and lighten the appearance, not make it like it never existed. 10 ) Considering things like CoolToning afterward to tighten the skin and firm the area you had the procedure done. Take it from a woman who hates her bum (shape, size, etc). It's a process to bring the love around. Unfortunately, I'm not comfortable putting my butt on display here yet since I'm waiting for picture day of my CoolToning results, but if I get them and feel comfortable then, I'll make sure to come back and edit (if able). She has all my photos and can likely send me my QWO start and my CoolToning complete to show what the whole process can do. Updated on 13 Oct 2022: As promised, I finished my CoolToning and a month has passed since then. Sadly, I had almost no results from cool toning in any way (a review for another section). We are going to go a different route and have a skin-tightening procedure done next month instead of trying again with CoolToning. However, as the month has passed, I can see more reduction of the appearance of cellulite as I was told it will continue to smooth over six months from the last session. If the skin tightening helps, I will update again to help people who do QWO with the best aftercare results.
Had my appointment with Kelly Stevens PA back in the summer time of 2020 to help me with my acne. Although the treatment plan she prescribed me successfully cleared up my skin, I cannot say I had a comfortable experience with her. She was very unprofessional in her mannerisms and treated me like I was dumb. She constantly interrupted me throughout the entire appointment and made me feel bad about my skin condition by telling me: "You have way too much going on your face" and laughing. It was clear she did not care about what I had to say either. I came prepared to discuss all the possible factors of what may have been causing my skin to break out and she did not care to listen. Her assistant was so nice to me but Kelly treated me like I was a paycheck, not a patient. I was supposed to revisit her in September but cancelled because I did not want to go through another humiliating experience like that again. Healthcare workers are supposed to make you feel comfortable, not judged. I hope she reads this and takes my review as constructive criticism. Please be nicer to your patients next time. One cannot get far in their career if they are entitled and arrogant towards others. I would also like to add that I am not one to ever take the time out of my day to write negative reviews but felt the need to on this one because I would not want anyone to experience what I did at this clinic. I arrived early for this appointment at 9:15am and waited 45 minutes in the lobby just to be rushed and treated like [RS bleep].
