This has been an awful experience for me. My healing has not been like the pictures and videos I've seen online. It is very new here in the USA. Please do your research and seek out someone who has done many. Everyone's skin heals/ reacts differently and treatment can cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation/ post inflammatory erythema. Make sure your technician uses an FDA cleared pen. Even with that, the procedure can be done too intense. It's possible to have heat too high ( depending on the pen used) , or just leave it in the spot for too long. Dots can be placed too close together which is more intense and more likely to cause more trauma to area. It was VERY painful. Felt like a candle was burning me. I have been told by others in the industry it should not be that painful, but my technician said that it can. I have been told this is not normal, something went wrong, but have been told by technician that nothing was done wrong. I have been left with dots/ as opposed to just redness. It does seem to be fading at 4 1/2 weeks but has been very stressful. Updated on 4 Apr 2019: I am about 9 weeks out and still have some redness/spots. Sometimes they look better than others. After washing my face it looks more red. I am able to cover this up with make up and it has healed quite a bit but is not totally gone. Updated on 26 Apr 2019: I am 11 1 /2 weeks out. Much better but still darkness, erythema under eyes. Depending on the time of day it looks redder or lighter. More red after washing my face due to capillaries. I am using some great products including growth factor serum, vitamin c serum, hydroquinone and SPF which have helped. There was so much damage and trauma to my skin, I'm happy it's lightened up as much as it has Updated on 26 Apr 2019: Just another image of my skin at 11 1/2 weeks out. This was taken in my dermatologist's office soon after washing my face. You can see the redness/darkness under my eyes due to the capillaries. It is erythema and seems to come and go depending on the time of day. It never really "goes" but it can look lighter Updated on 28 Apr 2019: I am so pleased with my healing. Despite the horrible damage to my skin, with using some wonderful products recommended to me by a trained esthetician in this procedure( who I found thru researching on my own) I look like myself again with some light make up. This is the amount of make up I would normally wear. Updated on 23 May 2019: This is a pre treatment picture-- It's kind of hard to tell but wanted to show fine lines that I was having treated. They actually are still there and I don't notice any improvement because she didn't use proper technique
