Nice and kindly team - very happy with the results

I am really very satisfied and happy with the Surgery Spa team and grateful to the nurse Karina. She was very kind, and also careful when she applied the fillers and she and her nursing assistant answered all my questions before and after the procedure. The procedure took about 20 minutes and was not painful. I am very happy with the results. Thank you Karina and Surgery Medical Spa.

He manages to "open up my face" and make me look 5 years younger

I have been going to Dr Moskowitz for 3 years now. He does my Botox. He is so good at what he does and is such a pleasure to be around that I look forward to seeing him - who looks forward to needles! I am 55 years old and he manages to "open up my face" and make me look 5 years younger with his treatments. He is excellent with following up to see if I need any additional botox a few weeks...

Doctor Grigoriy Mashkevich

I did my rhinoplasty 2 weeks ago and I love my new nose. Doctor did a great job. He has dexterous hands. Staff was very attentive and caring. I'm very happy with the surgery. My nose is almost fully healed with no bruising after less than two weeks. Highly recommend! *****

Q: After the nose job is done, how will I be able to breathe after rhinoplasty? Will I be OK breathing through my mouth?
Answered by Dr. MashkevichNovember 28, 2015

A: Most patients experience various degrees of congestion following rhinoplasty surgery, and most tolerate it rather well. If you have concerns about not being able to breath through your nose for several days, speak with your surgeon - it is possible to use splints containing a hollow tube though which you will be able to breath.

Q: I am turning 17 and I really want a nose job. Am I ready for one? What is the process?
Answered by Dr. MashkevichApril 11, 2015

A: Most patients at 17 are ready to undergo rhinoplasty, from the physical (appearance, end of the growth spurt, etc) and emotional standpoints. Parental consent will be required and parental involvement is important in the process of selecting the right surgeon. Consider seeing several rhinoplasty surgeons and ask for simulation and before and after photos, as these will be invaluable in making a decision about your surgery. Good luck,

Q: Do I have a tension nose? Should I be scared of Prolene sutures placed permanently inside my nose? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. MashkevichMay 16, 2014

A: Anne, you absolutely have the elements of a tension nose - your septum is overgrown (presence of a dorsal hump and blunting of the lip/nose transition on profile views). Best approach would be open, which gives the most optimal visualization of the middle portion (valve region) and allows for better precision (just my opinion). Your tip can be effectively narrowed with sutures and grafts.

With respect to sutures, it is a surgeon preference and bears no impact on the outcome. I use both PDS and Nylon sutures internally, and have not seen any issues with either. Each offers advantages and disadvantages depending on the location and purpose behind placement.

No one has a perfectly straight septum. Small deviations may be perceived as such by some surgeons, while others may disregard them entirely.

Good luck,

Q: My nose goes crooked when I smile due to severely deviated septum. Will a septoplasty fix this? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. MashkevichMarch 8, 2014

A: Septal deviation is only part of the story. You appear to have a very active depressor muscle that pulls your tip down and out when you smile. Removal of this muscle and fixation of your tip cartilages with respect to the septum (once it is straightened) is the best option to stabilize your nose. In other words, your need a full septorhinoplasty to address your septum / tip.

Q: Male nose- What are my options to help fix my tension nose/crowded upper lip and also the dorsal hump/crooked septum? (photos)
Answered by Dr. MashkevichMarch 8, 2014

A: Rhinoplasty surgery can correct the deformities that you are noticing about your nose. Avoidance of an operated look is a given goal of any rhinoplasty. Computer imaging can help delineate your priorities and show how your nose would appear after the operation. Specific to the base of your nose and its relationship to the lip and smile - this can be corrected with septal shaping and repositioning as well as modification of nasal tip cartilages. Details can be addressed during your consultation.
