Doctors

Cory Bovenzi, MD
Board Certified Otolaryngologist

Hello! I am a fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeon working at Smith Cosmetic Surgery in Centennial, CO just outside of Denver. I specialize in cosmetic procedures of the face, including facelift, necklift, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), chin implantation, laser treatment, Botox, and filler. I am board-certified and am in my 7th year of doing these types of surgeries. I went to medical school and residency in Philadelphia before doing a sub-specialization fellowship focused on facial cosmetic surgery in Atlanta before joining Smith Cosmetic Surgery here in Colorado. My philosophy is to create a natural refreshed appearance for all of my patients. The goal is to make you look your best while still looking like yourself!

The Best Cosmetic Office in Denver for Face, Neck & Chest!

I’ve been coming to this office for a few years now. Dr Brent Smith was amazing and surrounded himself with an “A team” staff who treat you like family. When Dr Bovenzi joined the practice, he was a phenomenal addition! The staff loves him and so do I!!! He is very experienced, is a perfectionist and takes whatever time necessary to review your concerns before and after all procedures to ma...

Great job - results have always been good with him

Dr. Bovenzi was very good at explaining everything to me. He was gentle and I hardly felt the procedure. He is thoughtful about discussing further procedures, not high pressure at all. Results have always been good with him. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend - very detailed, thorough and kind doctor

Great experience with my doctor. He was very detailed, thorough and kind. Took plenty of time with me before, during and after. Explained everything. Achieved what I asked for. Staff was fabulous. Loved the hyperbaric chamber for healing afterward. I highly recommend them.

Q: How long does a skin only lift last? (photos)
Answered by Dr. BovenziJanuary 25, 2024

A: Nowadays, no surgeons should really be doing a skin-only facelift since those results look unnatural with wide scars and don't address the underlying issue of muscle laxity. Mini facelifts still address the underlying muscle and would be a great option for you while minimizing downtime and would last close to 10 years.

Q: Is safe to get fIller in the pyriform aperture region before revision rhinoplasty?
Answered by Dr. BovenziJanuary 25, 2024

A: It would be best to wait until after you are healed from surgery to get filler in the pyriform aperture. The biggest risk is to the vascular structures in the area

Q: Is laser resurfacing okay to perform during a facelift?
Answered by Dr. BovenziAugust 28, 2023

A: I will very commonly provide facial laser resurfacing at the same time as facelift surgery. It is safe to do so as long as your surgeon takes care to allow for sufficient blood flow to the areas of laser treatment (e.g. ensuring to have a substantial thickness of the skin flap and avoiding heavy laser settings to the most distal areas of the skin flap). In this way, you can have a single downtime and recovery period.

Q: If I have an upper & lower facelift (inc. neck) as separate procedures, is this the same as a full facelift?
Answered by Dr. BovenziAugust 28, 2023

A: The variety of terms used in facelift surgery can sometimes be the source of confusion. The terms facelift / lower facelift/ face and necklift are many times used interchangeably. The upper facelift is a term that more commonly is called a browlift now, but there is a chance your surgeon is meaning it to be a midface lift for the cheeks rather than your brows. Because of all these different terms, your best source of information is at your consult so exactly what work and what results you can expect are clearly laid out for you to understand. My best estimate is in this case you would be getting a full facelift plus a possible browlift.

Q: Procedure to get rid of fat pockets on sides of mouth? (Photo)
Answered by Dr. BovenziAugust 28, 2023

A: Thanks for including a photo! The aging you are seeing here is a result of the ligament separating your cheek from your chin. Though the cheek falls with time, the chin tends to move less. This creates a prejowl sulcus that can pull down the corner of the mouth. This area can be addressed with facelift surgery. In the interim before surgery, you may consider using some filler to that area to help with the contour. Restylane Refyne is the filler I use most commonly for this issue. Best of luck!
