I work as a Registered Nurse just north of Seattle, Washington. I did quite a bit of research prior to doing laser hair removal, and found that the Lightsheer Duet was the "gold standard" for my skin/hair type at the time. Purchased 6 sessions for the lower legs at Facial Surgery Center of Seattle, Dr. Craig Jonov's office. My six sessions were performed by an RN who did a THOROUGH job. She took her time doing multiple passes. I had great results. I would say 80-90% reduction, and the hair is much finer and sparser after the treatments. A little regrowth later on, but not significant. I only have to shave my legs about once every couple weeks just to get rid of a couple very small patches of hair. Otherwise, there is virtually no growth, and my legs are extremely smooth for weeks after shaving. Prior to laser hair removal, I had a very rough "prickle" the day after shaving (so I would basically have to shave daily to keep my legs relatively smooth). It is now several years later, and I ended up getting another six treatments with the same laser (for "maintenance") at another spa offering a Groupon last year. They weren't as thorough, but I still saw great results. The key with laser hair removal is to be REALiSTIC. Unfortunately, complete hair removal is unrealistic. However, significant hair REDUCTION is realistic, for the ideal patient (I have fair skin and coarse, dark brown hair). The results don't last forever, because there are multiple hair growth cycles, which have to be targeted. Plan on getting six sessions to treat a MAJORITY of the hair, and then most likely another several maintenance sessions later on. Best of luck to you!
